With this comic I wanted to bring to life an old legend La Loba about wild women resurrected from wolf bones. La Loba literally means she-wolf. It’s the name of a mythical woman of the Pueblo people from Northern Mexico, popularized by Clarissa Pinkola Estés in her book Women Who Run With The Wolves.
I was always inspired by mythology and legends, I find great wisdom in them still relevant to this day. La Loba to me means fierceness and the proces of creation which are very important aspects of femininity.
La Loba doesn’t create life out of nothing, she only lets it manifest with her singing. She is not entitled to it. What was born from bones will return to bones.
